DIRECTIONS

Coming by road from the UK (i.e. from the North), you will likely come via/past Bergerac Airport. Thus, whether flying and renting a car, or driving from home, you will likely come via Bergerac. From Bergerac Airport, the drive takes about 40-45 mins.

These are the steps to follow from Bergerac (on the N21, heading South):

1. On the N21, follow the signs to Aéroport Bergerac Dordogne Périgord (but do not leave the N21 in order actually to turn into the access road to the airport).

2. Keep on the N21, passing the airport on your left.

3. From the airport, stay on the N21 for about 20 mins (23 km) until you reach Castillonnès.

4. Keep on the N21, heading straight on, through Castillonnès.

5. Staying on the N21, head toward Cancon (about 15 mins, 15 km).

6. On entering Cancon, bear off left into Rue de la République just after Café du Commerce and opposite the Boucherie-Charcuterie - it is signposted to Monflanquin, Villeréal and the D124.

7. Follow the D124 for about 15 mins (14 km) until you reach a small roundabout (with the very modern local senior school - Collège Joseph Kessel - on your left, and the Chausson builders merchants off to the right).

8. At the roundabout, take the first exit (i.e. head off to the right - bearing in mind that French roundabouts go round the opposite way for us), toward the Chausson builders merchants, and passing the Casino supermarket on your left.

9. Follow the short road up to the T-junction (with the filling station on your right and the pharmacy on your left). At the T-junction, turn right on to the D676 (with the town of Monflanquin behind you).

10. After a very short distance (perhaps 100 m), take the left turn into the narrow lane, signposted to Cap de Port and Guirautou.

11. Follow this lane past the Manoir on your left and then the field with the horses (again, on your left), and keep following the lane, bearing to the left at the bend and heading uphill.

12. After about 1 min, the house is on the right - No. 5. You will see the name sign for Les Jumelles on the ground at the entrance to the drive; our name is also on the post box. The house is opposite No. 20, and is the entrance after the one with the cypress trees either side (which is No. 7). Pull into the gravel drive and park in front of the garage:
